Hall, first I want to say that I LOVE being your wife! You were worth waiting for! I am looking forward to the rest of my life!
Though all the years we have been together you have shown over and over that you love me. You have believed in me and shown me how to believe in myself. I am a better person because you love me.
You have always loved me enough to allow me to be myself. You have encouraged me to be me, no matter what other people thought. You have laughed with me when life was good. You have held me and comforted me when life was tough, always making me know that we could handle anything.
My dreams--you have made so many of them come true. The Barbra Streisand Concert. Thank you just seems so inadequate. I hope you know how much it meant to me. In the face of Y2K and the price of the concert tickets, you never hesitated! "Just buy the tickets!" is what you said when I expressed concern about the price of going. You went with me, smiling, even though you are not a fan! When everyone else's partners wanted to know if they were "crazy," you said "Do it." You knew it was a long-time dream of mine and that was all you needed to know.
Every time I hear the song Because You Loved Me I think of you. It expresses, in some small way, the way I feel.
As we embark on the rest of our lives as husband and wife, know that I will be by your side, always. My goal is to spend the rest of my life fulfilling your dreams too. We should dream big because together we can do anything! The next 50 years--remember, you promised me a 50th wedding anniversary--is going to be a GREAT adventure.
